Where the journey begins
Fifty thousand people once filled it. It has stood for nineteen centuries, survived earthquakes, and been quarried for its stone, and it is still the first thing anyone pictures when they think of Rome. This is where the journey begins.

Flat · Cobble, gravel
The Via Appia Antica — the road Roman legions marched out on, closed to traffic on race morning. Basalt paving stones, umbrella pines, tombs and aqueducts on both sides. Flat, shaded, and forgiving; a good first marathon in a series of seven. The finish is inside the Appia archaeological park with the city behind you.

Day 2
The Colosseum itself, the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill, with an archaeologist as your guide, at the hour when the tour groups are thinning out.

Sixty people will see the seven wonders this way.
Places are allocated in order of deposit. Finishers of any Runbuk event may reserve before general registration opens.
